Tomasz Siemoniak

He was born on 2 July 1967. Graduate of the Foreign Trade Faculty of the Warsaw School of Economics, scholarship holder of Duisburg University (Germany).

In the past he was engaged in the operations of Independent Student Association (NZS) as NZS Chairman in Main School of Planning and Statistics (currently Warsaw School of Economics) and secretary of the National Coordination Committee. In 1994-1996 he worked in Telewizja Polska SA (Polish public television) as Director of the Office for Field Branches and General Director of Channel 1. In 1997 he coordinated the Media and Democracy programme in the Institute of Public Affairs. Between 1998-2000 he held the position of Director of Press and Information Office in the Ministry of National Defence. From 1998 to 2002 was Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Polish News Agency. In 1998-2000 he acted as a member of the Warsaw-City Centre District Council and Deputy Chairman of the Culture Committee of the Council. From December 2000 to July 2002 he held the position of Deputy Mayor of Warsaw. In 2002-2006 he was a Member of the Management Board of Polskie Radio SA (public radio company), and then from November 2006 to November 2007 he held the post of Deputy Marshal in the Marshal’s Office of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. From November 2007 he was Secretary of State in the Ministry of Interior and Administration. On 2 August 2011 he was nominated as the Minister of National Defence.

He is married. He has a daughter and a son.

W miniony poniedziałek w toruńskim Centrum Szkolenia Artylerii i Uzbrojenia rozpoczął się drugi tego roku turnus służby przygotowawczej, dla kandydatów na żołnierzy Narodowych Sił Rezerwowych. Wśród 240 szeregowych elewów, znalazło się aż 40 kobiet.  »

Kilkuset żołnierzy rezerwy stawiło się w kwietniu do 10 Brygady Kawalerii Pancernej (10BKPanc). Niektórzy rezerwiści złożyli także swoją pierwszą przysięgę wojskową.  »
