Rifle equipment is designed for fighting single and multiple live targets and light armoured equipment and means of fire on relatively small distances. It is divided into individual and collective equipment. The individual equipment, which constitutes the armament of the single soldier, comprises: pistols, machine pistols and carbines. The collective equipment which belongs to the equipment of detachments and combat vehicles, amphibious and airborne units includes the carbines and machine-guns (including large-calibre ones). The special means make the separate group of rifle equipment: carbines-rocket launchers, sniper rifles, anti-tank rocket launchers and hand grenades.
