  • On 26-27th January Chief of General Staff Gen. Franciszek Gągor attended the meeting of the NATO Military Committee held in Brussels. Main issues on the agenda were the progress made in ongoing NATO operations and the issue of the Alliance new Strategic Concept.
  • There are no substantial obstacles to military cooperation between Poland and Russia. Its further prospects may be decided by the meeting of the highest-ranking military generals Franciszek Gągor and Nikolai Makarov to be held this spring in Poland.

The military played with Jurek Owsiak’s Charity Orchestra
Polish Armed Forces again actively participated in the Great Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy). Soldiers helped volunteers in collecting money on the streets and provided many interesting objects for charity bids. This year thanks to the engagement of all the military units throughout Poland and also in Afghanistan a record sum of 120 thousand zlotys (about (≈9,7 mln USD) were collected by the military.
