Minister Siemoniak visits United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia

21-24.04. Minister of National Defence Tomasz Siemoniak is accompanying the Prime Minister Donald Tusk during visit in United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. Interest of Polish armament industry is the topic of Minister Siemoniak’s discussions.
- Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates spend a lot of money on armament and they expect the highest quality. I think, in a wide offer of Polish armament industry elements can be found that can be interesting for these countries. – Minister Tomasz Siemoniak assessed in talk with Polish Press Agency. Of course, all the mighty of the armament world are present on Arab markets, especially France and Great Britain have a strong position, but it is still worth to present our offer that can be interesting to our partners.
A few elements of our offer, connected with high technology are competitive in comparison to other world products. – The minister convinced.
In Defence Minister’s opinion KTO Rosomak (AMV) is very popular in the world. – Using them in Afghanistan Polish soldiers showed that this vehicle is admired by the best including Americans. Everybody in the world who deals with defence matters knows the name “Rosomak”. – The minister said. He added that Polish armament companies also want to offer helicopters and other air and electronic industry products such as radars to the Arabian partners.
Minister Tomasz Siemoniak announced that he will invite the Arabian partners to the International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce. – The fair will be a great exhibition of possibilities of Polish and the world armament industry. - The minister told Polish Press Agency.
Moreover, Defence Minister informed that the defence policy will also be among the discussed topics. Both countries are very important to us in the context of the situation in the Middle East and Afghanistan. During talks with politicians in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates I will be interested in their assessment of situation in Syria, Iran and Afghanistan. – Minister said.
